If you have a North Carolina driver's license, the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will send you a reminder card about 60 days before it expires letting you know that you need to renew it. However, you don't have to wait until you get that card to renew your license. You can renew it up to 6 months before it expires. Most renewals can be done conveniently online. If you can't renew online, you can also do it in person at the DMV office closest to you.
